Today we went to a Rockies game!!! It's Spring Training here in P-town. When my grandparents lived here, we'd come down from Colorado every spring break to spend the week with them. One of the highlights was going to a Spring Training game. Who else would we see but our very own Rockies!!! Going today was awesome. Just Mom and I went because Dad is sick at home with a pretty bad cold.
They played the Los Angeles Angels. It was a pretty low key game...not too much excitement. Until the end that is. The Angels got 3 up on us in the 3rd inning. In the bottom of the 6th, Rodriguez decided he wasn't waiting around for his team to help him score: he ended up stealing 2nd and then stealing home when the catcher dropped the ball for the first Rockies point of the game. We scored one more time in the 8th inning bringing us up to 3-2, Angels.
We started out with blue skies at the beginning of the game, but about halfway through the clouds rolled in and blocked the sun. Us little Phoenicians got chilly and by the 7th inning Mom was ready to call it quits. I convinced her to stay til after the 8th inning, but by then she said, We might as well finish it out. I knew the Rocks were going to pull ahead. Mom wasn't as convinced, but we stayed.
And it's a good thing we did!!!! Kendrick ended up hitting a home run, tying us 3-3 and then Brown came in and batted our runner home, WINNING THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
